Position Summary:

This position manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting department for NECA LLC and several related entities and supervision of the accounting staff. It monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports and statements. The position establishes and enforces proper accounting controls, policies, and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial statement closing process.
  • Supervise a team consisting of an Assistant Controller, 3 Senior accountants, 3 Staff Accountants and an Accounts Payable Coordinator.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements.
  • Prepare Cash Flow projections and analysis.
  • Prepare and enter general journal entries.
  • Review monthly P&L and provide explanations to material variances.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and key accounts review.

• Prepare information required for annual audit and work directly with outside accounting firm.
• Generate annual projections and other information required by the bank.
• State sales tax reporting.
• Implementing best practices, processes, and systems to better automate/streamline functions.
• Participate in other accounting and financial related tasks, as necessary.
• Provide training and professional development of the accounting team members.

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong proficiency in general accounting and internal controls.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, critical thinking, communicate progress, develop a plan and execute effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel.
